Home Inventory for Insurance · effective 7 September 2026

The short version

Your inventory stays on your device. Home Inventory for Insurance has no accounts, no servers, no analytics and no advertising. Nothing you enter, photograph, import or export is ever uploaded anywhere by the app.

What is stored, and where

Deleting an item or room inside the app permanently removes it and its photos from local storage. "Erase all data" in Settings, uninstalling the app, or clearing site data removes everything.

Camera

If you press the Camera button the app asks for permission to use a connected camera so you can photograph an item or receipt. Frames are captured entirely inside the app and saved only to local storage. You can revoke the permission at any time in Windows privacy settings; the app keeps working with photos you add from files.

What is not collected

No personal information, usage statistics, crash reports, device identifiers or location data are collected or transmitted. The app works fully offline once installed. The publisher never has access to your inventory, your photos or your policy details.

Purchases

If you buy the Pro upgrade through the Microsoft Store, the transaction is handled by Microsoft under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. The app only receives a yes/no entitlement.

Your responsibility for backups

Because nothing is stored on our servers, we cannot recover your inventory if the device is lost, reset or damaged. Use Reports & export → Save backup file regularly and keep the file somewhere off-site, such as cloud storage.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated date. Home Inventory for Insurance is published by Macon Apps, a trade name of Investor Direction LLC (Lancaster, Ohio). Questions: jj@maconapps.com or maconapps.com.
